The stock worldwide vector data is replaced with significantly more detailed and up-to date data, adding hundreds of thousands vector light features to your simulator, worldwide! Chris that is awesome, both in terms of visuals, but also the clear VAS measurements - something that all other devs should do so we know the impact of every addon clearly measured against adefault sim ...unless of course 64bit P3D4 is just around the corner and VAS concerns are going to reduce considerably
+B777ER
Ok Chris, sounds great. Last question. I saw where you said to shut off roads in FTX Vector. however, Orbx has these night lights that are configurable through their FTX Global Lights Configuration tool. I am not sure if when you shut off roads in FTX Vector these lights, which are like orbs that sit just above the road shut off as well. I think they actually might be tied in to the Orbx LC products, both Europe and NA. If so, I am concerned how they will interact with your road vector data? Clearly we cannot shut off the LC products.
+Chris Bell
there are ways to turns all these lights off!!! you could also ask the guys over at orbx about turning their features on or off for your own comfort regardless,

Clearly we cannot shut off the LC products. The ORBX lights you are referring to are part of the FTX Global textures and I do not think they can be turned off. The Open LC products add the orange roads at night and those night effects can be disabled in the scenery library. Still a bit confusing how everything will interact together. Chris of course is the night lighting master so I'm hoping to have full BM for my night and be able to disable/override all of the other night lighting from ORBX. +Chris Bell
roads are not annotated over textures, only trees and or buildings! orbx scenery is landclass based, you can switch anything you want on and off as far as our vector data interaction goes, our system is modular and powerful enough to allow you controlling any aspect of our application, with our manager you can select what you want to keep on or off; texture wise we don't bring anything to the mix,
+Mooze
Hey Chris are there any updates? We are hitting the 1st quarter 2017 and still nothin on the horizon.
+Chris Bell
i can tell you it is not a technical issues related to the product; rather setting up our shop, with that said we are literally days away; i know i keep saying that while missing our target! yet... i am saying this for a reason! because we are! in the old days putting up a site was a cakewalk; today with all these mobile devices with their responsive design its just a nightmare to develop even a simple website; let alone a complicated one, every design change we make has to be debugged and tested against over 1500 browsers and platform combination! all our websites are up and ready to accommodate our customers (thats 5 right off the start!), we have few small design touches to complete; but the bulk is done! right now the only issues keeping us at bay is our promised Blue Marble gift! we cannot open our doors before we can deliver our promised Blue Marble gift to our registered members; this is currently the main element delaying us on our end; as this need to be programed from scratch, if we open our doors without delivering Blue to our customers first as promised we will be crucified!
+Mooze
Thanks very much Chris, I am not complaining about missing your target dates at all as I totally understand the point of you giving a sincere deadlines and that is unfortunate that it is not happening as planned while you are doing your very best, I do understand that some people take that as a big deal and go ballistic about it while it is not a big deal at all but people are different and I respect that. That was a great update and I will ignore your statement with that said we are literally days away until I see the news popping up in front of my eyes, it is always very appreciated to be kept on the loop specially if thing are getting beyond the plan but again I understand that you don't have to
+Chris Bell
don't ignore that statement, we are very very close! so close that we are thinking of putting up Blacks new Promo video! i do understand our guys who been hanging on for us to come through with Black, it does weigh on me personally; especially knowing what holding us back are not technical issues on the product end, we will come through for everyone just as we promised; not only that we will set new standard when it comes to our customer support and services! +egkkman
HI Chris, Quote it does weigh on me personally; especially knowing what holding us back are not technical issues on the product end, There's plenty of us waiting patiently and quietly for the big day Chris, the Champagne will keep. +Roi1862
Hopefully good news soon Chris. I'm still not using the sim for night flying (needles to say how much i want to...). Ill keep checking every few days hopefully to see BM with the Vector data is released.
+Roi1862
Hi Chris, I wanted to get your opinion. Over a year ago since you told us about this crazy product, i was holding myself from buying the other guy product as you know. But then again its over a year ago... I know its a competition and i know the story behind the other product. Since there is no demo version i cant see what it really offers. What do you think is it worth giving it a try ? At least till BM is out... Thanks for all your work Chris ! You the best !
+Chris Bell
first things i don't know of anyone who has anything remotely close to Black Marble in the works! in my opinion it is not worth your tie to even try the other line it a waste of your money, Black Marble and NE will continue to flourish for many years to come! they will always be coupled with our service and support, a quick question, how do get support from the other guy? this so called "developer" doesn't offer any support with his products does he? want to take a wild guess as for why no reputable publisher will put their name on his work? or why he doesn't offer any support and is only able to sale through SimMaket?

+Chris Bell
Black Marble is real and alive, if you read back you will see my comments repeating Black Marble is ready! we are healed back for other reasons unrelated to the product itself; the logistics of our new shop, with that said... we are closer than ever to opening our doors and releasing our products direct!
+Roi1862
Great to hear it Chris ! I know it is alive its just that impatience coming over me sometimes By the way Chris something i wanted to know. Does BM going to have different set of light texture ? for example lights for landmarks, white floods lights for parking lots and maybe even white flood lights for ski sloops in winter ? I know that BM is like canvas and a brush but just wanted to know how much variety we going to have flying over cities. Thank you for your time Chris !
+Chris Bell
Black Marble covers road networks! you will have a huge array of lighting types to choose from in a variability of colors shapes, these all can be resized natively to whatever size you choose; we don't even count that as a feature! Night Environment covers those aspects in more detail, with that said it might be an option we will be able to add in the future to Black due to its modular and robust design! +FactionOne
I'm trying my best to remain patient, while this is easily the closest I've been to 'kid at Christmas' since being a kid at Christmas (and my birthday's in December!). I've been fairly snowed-under with work for the past week or so; but have had a tab open on this page for the duration. (Confession: I've been waving at other contributors to the thread when I've noticed us together in the 'Recently Browsing' block at the bottom of the page.) Chris, I might be over-analysing this, but since you posted yesterday, I've been reflecting on "we are closer than ever"... Black Marble has not yet been released, which means it can only happen in the future. As our experience of time is linear, it's a logical truism that we're closer than ever; and as we understand time as inifinite, BM could never be released yet still getting closer! I understand that you'll tell us when things are ready, and so I'm sorry to be going down a probably redundant & tiresome line of inquiry, but is there anything even a little more specific you might be able to say? My flight sim system needs a freshen up, but I've been holding off rebuilding my disk images until BM's available - could you perhaps give us a (no strings attached, understood to be tentative, open to change) hint of when you hope to go live? The next few days? A week or two? Sometime in April? Again, I'm quite sorry to be asking, as I do know better; but at the moment I'm like a coiled spring in anticipation, and being able to plan some of my pre-requisite system fiddling might help relieve a bit of tension. All the best, Rob. Edited March 24, 2017 by FactionOne

+Chris Bell
im with you guys i hate this long anticipation but... i know beyond any shadow of doubt Black Marble is worth the wait! i am not in liberty to elaborate further; as much as i LOVE to say it.... we were hit with an additional "snag" this week which we are working on at the moment, i can assure you all this is a blessing in disguise as well as a game changer! stay tuned... to elaborate on "closer then ever" it is not Black Marble itself that is in question for us; it is in the sense of our shop ground work!
+Chris Bell
to elaborate on my "closer then ever" comment... we are involved with multiple professionals in this scenario; we do not rely on our team skills alone! we have to wait on their schedule as well; as they are also engaged in other project it is not Black Marble itself that is in question for us (note the date below); it is in the sense of our online shop ground work! i hope this clear up the confusion there
+FactionOne
Hi Chris, Thanks for your replies. I found myself compelled to post lots of follow-up questions - again, knowing better; so I decided to extricate myself before I became a pest! Having composed myself, I've just come back to note that if an extra pair of PHP/MySQL hands might expedite things, feel free to give me a shout! Best regards, Rob. P.S. Any progress? +FactionOne
I have a sneaking suspicion that server load averages have recently increased*. More software on it? *(or maybe it's just that my connection's getting slower since last week's Article 50 debacle.)
