Hi Chris

 

this looks fantastic. So, am I to understand that the night “textures” will be drawn in the distance even with the autogen/scenery load distance not at maximum ?

indeed Eduardo :) 
i posted the setting we are working with so there's no doubt, 

textures will extend as far as the eye can see, you clearly can see LC night textures now even in F12 view all the way from space,

the only reason scenery complexity slider is not completely off atm is because we are also testing bridges and thats the minimal it has to be for them to show

otherwise it can also be off with the same radius still shown, "level of detail radius" is all you need to do to change coverage area,

images shown with max default "level of detail radius" slider setting (if it was custom it would say custom instead of MAX),
 

there are few other element we have not yet disclosed that will compliment the new radius as well,

fairly soon! maybe next week or the following,

the new data is in the oven as we speak we are waiting on that to finish,

we will release the data update very soon followed by another update containing our new textures and few other surprises, 

there's more to come we are not disclosing yet  (i know im a tease, let me have it that's all i got :D )

so.... what else is coming beside textures update,

we have a completely new and up to date worldwide data set as of May 2019,

through our new and improved process we are now regenerating new vector data to be replaced worldwide,

we are adding/replacing all Rails worldwide and all dirt roads as well from the same data set with ON/OFF controls for each data segment,

Bridges will now have their own CPanel with ability to turn ON/OFF 3D Bridge data segmented by road class (similar to Traffic Control Panel),

and the long awaited hard surface for our 3D Bridges been added with our new Traffic data rendered to cross over Bridges as intended (as advertised!),

that's it for now (believe it or not there's even more ;))

there will few update iterations to fully cover update scope,

as long as CA earthquakes dont get in our way vector data updates expected to be released upcoming week,

to give everyone an overview on whats coming and roughly when,
we have been hard at it further tuned new vector data which required recompiling of everything all over again,
by Saturday the process that's been running the past few days should complete with our new refined data,
if all looks good we will move on to next phase of packing for distribution,
first to come out will be Vector Pack, followed by 3D Bridges and Traffic Pack,

Base will be updated last to include our new high range textures and light models,

followed by another Vector Update covering new Rails and dirt path, points data segments,
and... a surprise we have not yet revealed :D

i guess some of you are wondering whats the value in having rails or dirt roads added,
the current data represented in sim is about 20 years old by now, 
one cannot control these particular classes atm, they are just there at all times,
adding them now to Black Marble lineup up to date we also can turn them on and off to further tune visuals and performance as desired,

the bulk part of processing waiting for the data to compile is over,
the data has been validated and working as expected, we will likely have these out by Monday after testing packed installers,

though it looks fantastic, its not about the looks :o 

the part that's prob confusing, i only used a small data chunk covering just the parts you see lit in the third image for the test,
lights dont extent (yet) just because we didn't render data to test beyond the area that's currently shown lit in third image,

the first image is showing current autogen radius maxed out in the same area,

 

this should help explain
