Black Marble NG Update Preview

That’s nice Chris. Looking awesome.

However, LM still hasn’t fixed the annoying autogen bug with P3D (autogen stops loading after some time when you have autogen/scenery load distance above MEDIUM). It happens on high end and low end pc’s. So, in order to have the lights showing up as far as the pics show, do we need to increase the autogen loading distance ?

no connection what so ever :)

if you look closely you will notice there is a gap between our test area shown up ahead and the immediate area below which is lit using native autogen radius (Base+Vector),
autogen is set to max distance to show the setting are at max so the radius you see are the max possible by default,
our area up ahead is rectangle not round/oval shape as you we see with native autogen radius ;)

Interesting to see this approach to overcome the native P3d limitation, looks promising.

Looking forward to this.

i can tell you that its very much flyable, on my dev laptop frames are locked 30 over LAX!

other than that frames will always vary based on settings, location, and scenery involved,

Chris,

If I understood correctly, do we need to set the autogen loading distance to ULTRA or HIGH in order to get the autogen lights to show like the pics above ?

no Eduardo!
this was not yet released,

when it will be released we will announce and you wont need to extend any slide as in the first settings image shown here,

https://forums.chrisbelldesigns.com/topic/1258-black-marble-ng-update-preview/?do=findComment&comment=10654

in the second image i am showing the maximum native sim autogen distance with maxed out sliders so differences are more clear,

This looks amazing!
As far as I understand, this is an update to Night Environment series?

Is there estimated time of release already?

Best regards

Thank you and Welcome to our forums Marek :)
initially we were hoping this will be a simple update to Vector Pack,
as it evolves it became apparent that we cannot ship new 20GB as an "update" to our Vector pack,
this will likely be a new addon Package for BM similar to Traffic and 3D Bridges Pack; with Base and Vector Pack prerequisites,

if all goes as plan expected release will be as soon as next week!

Thank You for information Chris!

What will be a difference between this one and Night Environment? Will the coverage be global?

this is a new Black Marble addon,
Night Environment has its own complex architecture and is still designed mainly for Photoreal sets without night layer,

while we still cannot render worldwide Night Environment, this is as close as one can get with landclass based scenery,

what you see in the images is the full worldwide package not the test area as shown earlier,
yes what you see is global coverage rendered to match all Black Marble Vector data worldwide!

Fantastic Chris

One question that I could not find the answer in the manual: is there any setting that increases the brightness of the vector lights ?
