Hello Chris, hello everybody!

I am looking forward to BlackMarble for P3Dv4.

I own Orbx Lights EU and there is something i don't really like.

A video is more than 100 words: Lights popping in at horizon
From what i understood, BMNG does not have this distance-popping-in problem. Right?

Thanks a lot and have a shiny day.

welcome to our forums Alberto :)

this is a fairly complicated answer, consider you are looking at an effect that's a light over a black canvas,
so the effect is very much visible though nothing like what you are showing in your video,

we have a full segment of video you can get a closer look at our work,

https://forums.chrisbelldesigns.com/videos.html/ (there's also a tab at the top nav bar under our logo)
we have two different technologies we employ each has its pro and cons and is designed for specific environmental conditions,

our Black Marble line is a global worldwide product line utilizing landclass,
while our Night Environment line is directed towards Photoreal daytime scenery without night rendition (though it can also be used without daytime photoreal) and is library object based,

here's our Black Marble over L.A. area

Hi Chris and thanks for the fast answer!

Unfortunately i think i didn't get it.

None of your videos are recorded high altitude enough to see the effect i showed.

I know about the difference between a global product like BMNG and a regional vfr like every of yours NE regions.

I still don't understand how BMNG lights draw distance is managed, and if there is that kind of popping-in.

Thanks!

the major difference is we use real vector data vs the example you show in your short video where textures are used to give the illusion of data,
BMNG has no textures what so ever it uses 100% vector data to draw all our roads and lights live (worldwide) and has a 1:1 fidelity to real world grid and layout,
the others use textures and are bound to LC textures LOD's with some vector to fill in the gaps,

Thank you for every explained detail.
I was checking prices to buy it, but unfortunately i do not have 114 bucks to spend for Base and Vector. 😔💵💵💵
I hope there will be some blackfriday like / discounts deals in future.

Have a nice day!
