As my name is being mentioned Id like to say... I dont know who FBWFTW is, maybe I know them my a different name... I have sat by whilst people installed BM products and those that followed my video tutorials on You Tube have had success, I dont offer any support for BM products as Im not Chris Bell 😂... I never claim to be apart of the Creative Design support team, I think people just come to me cuz Ive done the videos and they see my videos where everything works fine...so they just need someone by their side whilst they install... My guess is that something that was installed already on the system was the real issue here and that was the reason for the long loading times and stuttering sims to the point of a re-install... BM products probably only highlighted the issue rather than being the cause of it... I have been in your shoes before FBWFTW, so I know what youre feeling, when I first was a BM customer and getting it working on my pc, it turned out to be my lack of knowledge about the sim, the pc and how the BM products actually work which was the real issue, which is what I feel is the real issue for everyone who comes with this exact same issue, which I see time and time again in here... BM gets the blame for so much when in actual fact its the user that is the real issue...or rather lack of knowledge from the user. There is so much on a pc these days and BM needs a working sim to be used properly, if the sim is broke (which a sim can be broke without even the user knowing it!) then BM simply wont work as intended... Fix the pc, fix the sim and youll have a different experience. Reinstalling Windows is drastic and wont actually work properly unless you completely wipe everything and start again as the way Windows 10 now offers a re-installation... so the issue could remain if you keep your personal files. These products I truly believe actually help keep a sim working clean and stable more so than not using these products. The extra tools they offer alone are worth the products as they also help keep from files corrupting, talking of the DirectX cache removal tool and the Scenery Indexer rebuild tool. I use these two tools with every load of the sim to help keep it as close to default as possible... I truly believe that P3Dv5 is a stable sim, its the addons we put in that make it unstable and BM products HELP to make it even more stable, as well as give us the best night lighting in P3D 🤣 definitely not the opposite

Hey Chris, So I’ve tested out both California and Florida NG, did really well in California-bumping up into the 5.4-5.6GB out of 6.9-7.1GB with the VRAM. This was with Orbx KBUR alongside FSDT KLAX and the results were fabulous! Couldn’t be more pleased with the looks and feel of the NG series. On to the issue-Florida and my much beloved (but extremely VRAM hungry) LatinVFR airports which sit on top of Orbx True Earth Florida. I’ve been able to run KMIA and KFLL together with KMIA being the slightly less heavy of the two on VRAM. Clearly the main issue is the airports usage-but my question for you is: Which specific pieces of the NE NG software use the most vram (I presume it has to do with texture loading and rendering of sorts). Basically-what kind of tuning can I do in the manager’s settings that might help me to save a few hundred MB’s of VRAM? If I could save say 300mb or do it would keep things decently low enough to work. In my manager, I have volumetric and colored on. I turned off some of the steps/pedestrian roads and turned the tertiary stuff down to 50% Could I -Turn a few things from 50% to off? -Turn brightness down? -Go from volumetric to regular lights? On a relatedly unrelated to NE NG’s performance topic-the reason I ran out of vram tonight was GSX my GSX activation on landing-that’s where I ran out of vram-on activating my gate after landing. With that being said, it seems to me that GSX/SODE activation causes a spike in VRAM-particularly when looking right at the gate or being in view of it as the equipment spawns in and resources are asked for. So that’s why I’m lookin to budget a few things here and there. Figured I’d start with the addons first.

The issue there is that I frequently will time my flights for takeoff just before dusk so as to get the full sunset and then the effect of landing in Florida (or California) at night... I’ve trimmed back texture and mesh resolution as well as LOD from Ultra to High (for night) I’ll dig up some screens of my settings either tonight or tomorrow and post them. South Florida is one of my go to spots both in the sim and real world vacations, so that’s why I went for all the airports along with TE Florida, NE NG and of course it looks amazing, but I could really use an RTX3090... Then I wouldn’t even be asking 😂

Coming out of the clouds into Miami last night was amazing by the way! Just about everything was ok until I landed 🤣

hmm... lets see how we can clear some VRAM space, is BM active? is Extended active with it? if so turning off extended will greatly help your VRAM usage, next if BM is running without Extended active you will want to make sure that all of Florida is cover by PR or BM lights may leak through if no day PR exists over parts of FL, we can add excludes etc. atm our premise is the end user has the area covered with day PR, let me know where you at with regard to the above we will take it from there,

Still working on the configuration to get the best effect... But for $20, I’m happy with Florida NG-the only thing I notice is long autogen loading times-nothing too crazy considering I’ve got TE Florida in there. After having bought BM and Vector and having something happen along the install that resulted in me having to reinstall windows and my sim, NG Florida has redeemed my faith in CDS a bit. I plain won’t go back to BM after what happened as I don’t want days of reinstalling stuff again... Still haven’t figured out what the heck happened there, but will happily purchase more NE NG products as they come along. I’ve attached some RW pics and some sim pics for comparison. I certainly appreciated your help my friend-and yes we followed the instructions to the T. But I’ve moved on from BM for the time being and am quite enjoying my NE NG though I need to do a bit more tuning for SoCal-I get a few stutters/hiccups here and there but overall the performance is amazing for the amount of light generated!!! edit: @Chris Bell perhaps you SHOULD make Adam part of the team, his patience and knowledge could really help and he’s willing to put the time in to help people out and he evangelizes BM the same way I’ve been out this week evangelizing my NE NG products!

As for BM/Vector. I installed all those with Adam by my side for it and whether it was BM or something interacting with BM (I believe Drzewiecki Design was potentially considered a culprit) nuked my load times and killed my FPS to the point I couldn’t get the sim to load properly with or without BM installed-so rather than doing a plain P3D reinstall and chancing cruft/registry stuff hanging around I went for the full Monty on the reinstall. I don’t use EA and I have chaseplane. If you look close some of the sim pics have a bit more saturation-I had to adjust my chaseplane HDR override during my testing. Some of the pics have the volumetric lighting on as well-this is over Orbx Global, Orbx Open LC NA and over True Earth Florida so it’s quite nice! Still trying to find that happy medium. I wish I could make a few more orange lights white! Also-the second sim pic just crossing the intracoastal was taken from my cellphone (several of the pics were on my cell I recorded the takeoff using my phone to try to do a side by side video)

Hello, Do I need Extended Lights for Orbx True Earth? Regards, Rob

Well... Let me rephrase that then... I had a smooth, perfectly working sim... installed BM and Vector... Followed the instructions live from Adam bless his heart for his patience... Restarted the sim... Boom... Problems-mainly 45+ minute load times and massive stuttering on top of that... Uninstalled BM... Still the SAME problems! So by simple logic, SOMETHING either in the BM or vector install either interacted poorly with/ moved something in my sim to nuke it. It burned me once I’m not ready to go thru that again. Now on a positive note I was on final landing in TPA last night and I couldn’t believe how beautiful the NE NG lights looked! I must’ve taken 100 screenshots
